Organisation

Seconde

The Lycée comprises two cycles: the class of seconde, when pupils gradually specialise in their chosen path, and the cycle terminal, the final two years (première and terminale) when students focus on taking and passing their BAC and consider higher education.

Social and Economic Sciences (SES) and Literature and Society are available to all pupils. Social and Economic Sciences help pupils discover the subject based on specific topics such as business operations, evolution of the family and employment issues, etc.

Cycle Terminal

These last two years of school (première and terminale) prepare pupils for the final BAC. The pupils of Sainte Croix des Neiges can choose one of three specialisations: Literature (L) or Sciences (S).

Modern languages 1 and 2 are English and German or Spanish. Other non-compulsory language or cultural options can be prepared with a view to taking the final BAC exam through distance-learning courses via the CNED.

Specialised subjects

  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Earth and Life Sciences
  • Social and Political Sciences
  • LLCE English

Our pedagogical approach

As is the case throughout their schooling at Sainte Croix des Neiges, the lycée pupils receive personal academic guidance from teachers who address their individual needs. Thus, the teaching staff identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each pupil. Daily guided study sessions help to address any difficulties and encourage the progress of each pupil at their own pace.

The emphasis on modern languages and particularly the regular use of English at the end of the final year will be a priority. Pupils are encouraged to use the language lab.

Living alongside the international students at Sainte Croix des Neiges and trips abroad also provide an opportunity to practise foreign languages. Pupils who wish to do so can prepare for the English exams they need for their post-BAC career path.

Lastly, deciding on higher education and choosing the right career path are major challenges for pupils and their parents. Here again, the Sainte Croix des Neiges team is there to listen to pupils and guide them in making the right choice. The network of former students is a useful asset for discussing what job and business sector to choose with professionals that have come from a community dear to them.

« The teachers at Sainte Croix des Neiges taught me discipline and the desire to succeed and excel. They guided me in my business venture and their advice continues to serve me today!”

Félicien Konan-Banny, former pupil.
